Ponder: as digital records of life — photographs, videos, emails, IM logs, etc — become more and more common, is it harder or easier to cope with the death of a close friend?

Sitting in my kitchen at three in the morning working my ass off. Again. These are the good times. No, seriously. They are.

Also: I could listen to A Wolf At the Door all night long. It’s like Thom Yorke and Lou Reed made a baby, and it was this song.

My best memories of Wolf are: walking through Paris with my WiFi geiger counter, looking for a cafe with an uplink, the mp3 playing in the background two months before the album was released. And: leaving the office at 4am and riding my bike through the empty streets of Brookline with this going on repeat.

The front wheel, seat and lights were stolen off my bike today, leading to several hours spent in two different stores collecting all the missing parts.

Friday I got an AT&T mobile phone to replace the Sprint one I’d lost to last week’s aquatic deluge. This weekend I determined that AT&T has basically the worst reception in Boston; zero bars at my apartment, one bar at work if I’m lucky, and, Sunday afternoon, no signal at all across the street from the AT&T store.

Today, they wouldn’t let me return the 3-day-old t68i I’d bought, since I’d lost the box. Nor would they let me use Jacob’s box.

So I went to T-Mobile to get a new phone, only to discover that I had a past-due account with them: apparently six months ago when I briefly had a T-Mobile Sidekick they had my address listed wrong and weren’t automatically billing my credit card as I’d believed. So they wouldn’t sell me a phone without a $500deposit.Andfuckthat.

Shit.Andnowmyspacebarisn’tworking.Icannotfuckingbelievethis.
