I don't know any other city in the world where you can see something like this in the center of the town. And you can go and have a walk in Englisher garten just near this place. Anyway I took these shots sitting down on the water's edge. The canal itself is maybe two meters deep. The wave is actually caused by a bulge of the canal floor near the bridge. I think it’s quite a bit shallower there. As far as I understood it, the surfers have wooden boards of different sizes with ropes attached to each end of the board and then they attach the ropes to the bridge and throw the board into the water which changes the shape of the waves.
